Tank cleaners are important to ensure that spray booms and equipment is kept in good order and most importantly, that spray residues can be degraded prior to re-use in order to avoid contamination and potential crop damage.
Sulfonyl urea and phenoxy herbicides in particular can contaminate a spray and cause crop damage in very small quantities. They can remain in the spray equipment, and soak into scale, then be re-absorbed into the next spray.
